Open Kitchen provides a meal for anyone who needs it every Thursday evening from 5pm run in partnership with Chorley Help the Homeless. ‘Need’ is broadly defined, anyone who needs a meal or needs a meal in company for any reason is welcome.

Open Kitchen meals are prepared and served by volunteers. There is usually quite a varied menu, as well as the main course anyone who comes can have a brew and dessert. Donations of food and toiletries from shops are sometimes distributed at Open Kitchen and we are able to put people in touch with other services as needed.

During the current Covid 19 restrictions meals are served on a takeaway basis from the Hall door at the end of Byron St. Under normal circumstances, people enter through the Byron St door and take a seat. Volunteers then take orders for food and drink, a table with any food or other items to be taken will be placed in a corner near the door.

Open Kitchen has been running for several years and relies on volunteers who are not part of the church congregation as well as church members. We feed between 20 and 40 people at most sessions, most of whom are homeless or vulnerably housed in Chorley. If you’d like to volunteer or donate food or other items, please get in touch.
