A warm welcome

Throughout the winter The Meeting Place was a warm hub – somewhere safe, warm and welcoming that anyone and everyone can come. This hospitality continues, refreshments are served from 10am-2pm, with lunch at 12. There is free WiFi, sockets to charge a phone and a warm welcome.

The Meeting Place is open for everyone, offering a warm welcome, refreshments, games and activites.

Chorley Repair Cafe

Open on the second Saturday of the month, Chorley Repair Cafe exists to spread repair skills and get broken items, destined for landfill, back in use.

Coffee Morning

Saturday mornings (except the second Saturday) you’re invited to join us for a cup of tea or coffee, a scone or tea cake and a chat.

Open Kitchen

A free, takeaway meal on Thursdays at 5 for anyone who needs it.

The Centre in Hollinshead Street in Chorley has been a hub for community activity for over 75 years, helping the most vulnerable people in our community, including older people, people suffering isolation, people with learning disabilities, people affected by drug/alcohol abuse and the homeless.

The Meeting Place has been selected by Asda Chorley as one of its causes in the long running Green Token scheme. Three causes collect votes with the winner receiving £500, second and third places get smaller amounts. We need your votes to get as many votes as possible...

Rooms for Hire

From the auditorium space of the Sanctuary, to meeting rooms and a mulitpurpose hall the Hollinshead Centre has rooms available for a variety of uses.

Community Groups

The Hollinshead Centre hosts a range of community groups – Scouts & Guides, Alcoholics Anonymous, Chorley Safe Space, Chorley Repair Cafe and more.

Planned New Facilities

We have plans to refurbish and extend the Centre. The new building will have a central cafe and courtyard and will offer an up-to-date multipurpose community centre
