The Wellbeing Garden programme has been paused whilst we work out how to run it, especially during the upcoming building project. In the past we met weekly to grow fruit and vegetables in raised beds around the centre as well as creating attractive displays in planters and the gardens in front of the church. We have also exhibited at Chorley Flower Show for several years in the School and Community Competition.
The building work that will start in early 2026 has forced us to move the raised beds we installed a few years ago, with some possibly being stored until the work is over – reducing the space we have available to grow.
In the meantime a few volunteers hope to keep using the beds they can and the greenhouse to grow food for use in the centre and to keep the gardens an attractive and welcoming space for people passing through the site.
The garden programme has been support by funding from Chorley Council and the Asda Foundation.
